An Agent is a SIP user, such as a softphone or desk phone, that registers with Routr and calls other Agents in its Domain or the PSTN.

Fields

The API response also includes domain and credentials, the objects that domainRef and credentialsRef point to.

Constraints

  • name is required and must be 1 to 60 characters.
  • username is required and can’t contain spaces. In YAML it must be 4 to 60 characters. In pgdata it must be unique across Agents.
  • Quote numeric usernames in YAML ("1001") so they parse as strings.
  • An Agent with no credentialsRef is challenged but can’t authenticate, because Connect computes the digest response from the Agent’s Credentials.
  • When an Agent reaches maxContacts, Connect answers new REGISTER requests with 403 Forbidden. Refreshing an existing contact still works.

YAML example

The following file defines one Agent in the Domain domain-01.

rctl equivalent
