The Registry Service sends outbound REGISTER requests on behalf of Trunks that have sendRegister set to true. On each interval, it asks the API Server for those Trunks and sends a registration for each one through the Requester, which hands it to an EdgePort.

Docker image

fonoster/routr-registry The image reads its configuration from /etc/routr/registry.yaml (CONFIG_PATH).

Ports

The Registry Service does not serve gRPC. It is a client of the API Server and the Requester.

Configuration file

The Registry Service reads a YAML or JSON file and validates it against a JSON schema at startup.

Environment variables

gRPC contract

The Registry Service calls these methods. See trunks.proto and requester.proto.

Minimal example

This configuration registers Trunks every 60 seconds through one EdgePort.
This command runs the Registry Service with that file.

Notes

  • Registrations always go through the first entry in spec.edgePorts.
  • Each Trunk registers to its first outbound URI, with the Trunk’s outbound credentials.
  • Each REGISTER asks for an expiration of 600 seconds. On each round, the service skips Trunks that already have an entry in its cache.
  • The redis cache provider keeps registration state outside the process, so several Registry instances can share it.
  • routr-one does not include the Registry Service or the Requester.
